Police chiefs are considering whether they reluctantly ask the Home Secretary to introduce compulsory redundancy as an option for chiefs and Police and Crime Commissioners to manage significant further cuts to the service
An NPCC spokeswoman said:
"Police chiefs are thinking carefully about how we can continue to provide policing services to the public if there are further significant cuts to the policing grant in the Government Spending Review. As part of this, chiefs will decide next month whether we should reluctantly ask the Home Secretary to introduce compulsory redundancy as an option for chiefs and Police and Crime Commissioners."
