The National Police Chiefs' Council have responded to the National Appropriate Adults Network's report, published today, into the provision of appropriate adults for vulnerable adults in police custody.
An NPCC spokesman said:
“The police service takes its responsibility towards dealing with vulnerable adults very seriously. We will be pleased to work with the Home Office, local authorities and the National Appropriate Adults’ Network on any plans to improve the current service to vulnerable adults who find themselves in contact with the police.”
