The National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) has today announced the return of the NPCC Innovation & Digital Summit, taking place 20–22 October 2026 at the Exhibition Centre, Liverpool.
As the largest digital and technology event in the policing calendar, last year’s summit brought together over 700 delegates from across law enforcement, government, academia and industry to explore how, when utilised safely, modern technology can transform policing and enhance public safety.
Building on that momentum, this years’ event promises an action-packed three-day agenda, an expanded exhibition space to better showcase the breakthrough technologies now available to policing and a night of celebration to shine a spotlight on the innovative work already taking place across forces.
Chief Constable Rob Carden, NPCC Lead for Digital, Data and Technology said:
“Never before has innovation been so high on the policing agenda, with the appetite to better utilise technology working hand in hand with the wider police reform agenda to provide significant opportunity for change and improvement across our service. As outlined in the National Police Digital Strategy 2025-30, collaboration with others will be crucial to make sure the changes we make are sustainable, cost-effective and future-proof.
With a jam-packed agenda covering different areas and perspectives, last year’s summit provided a unique insight into what the future might look like for policing, with ample opportunity for those in attendance to build positive connections and explore how law enforcement, industry and academia can best work together for the benefit of public safety.
With work already underway to deliver another three days of timely discussion and debate on all thing’s innovation, I’m keen to shine a spotlight on the importance of policing data which, as the foundation of any technology we adopt, needs to be reliable, accessible and utilised as a strategic asset. I’m looking forward to re-welcoming delegates to this year’s event which will provide the perfect forum to have those conversations and drive forward real-world improvements for forces nationwide and the public we serve, at pace.”
Chief Constable Jeremy Vaughan, NPCC Lead for Science and Innovation said:
“Last year’s Innovation and Digital Summit demonstrated the value of bringing policing, industry and technology partners together. The conversations, ideas and partnerships that emerged showed how powerful collaboration can be in accelerating digital innovation across policing.
Building on that momentum, the 2026 summit will place an even greater emphasis on collaboration between policing and the commercial sector, creating opportunities to share expertise, develop solutions together and harness technology to deliver better outcomes for policing and the communities we serve. In doing so, it will also support the wider transformation and reform of policing, ensuring forces are equipped to meet the evolving demands of modern policing.”
Tony Eastaugh CBE, Chief Executive of Police Digital Service, said:
“We are incredibly proud to support the NPCC Innovation & Digital Summit for the second year in a row. Last year proved just how valuable this event is for policing, bringing together expertise, sparking collaboration and accelerating the digital transformation that keeps our communities safe. We’re excited to help deliver an even more ambitious and impactful summit in 2026. We are committed to working alongside UK policing to deliver on the National Policing Digital Strategy and equip our law enforcement professionals with the tools they need to keep our communities safe and secure.”
Registration, programme details and exhibitor information will be released in the coming weeks.
