Police chief pay is fair
Sir Hugh Orde has not had a pay rise of £27,000 as President of the Association of Chief Police Officers. He is salaried at the same rate as in his previous post, Chief Constable of the Polce Service of Northern Ireland, to reflect a pre-existing arrangement that the president should be paid at the average for all chief constables, or the rate of their previous post , whichever was higher.

Director of Communications, The Association of Chief Police Officers
