Cash forfeiture and criminal investigation powers in the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (POCA) allow the police and other agencies to seize money or assets deemed to be gained through criminal activities
National policing lead on proceeds of crime Chief Constable Mick Creedon said:
"We think it is right that law enforcement agencies that do the most to collect proceeds of crime receive a fair proportion that can be reinvested in policing. The way that funds from the Proceeds of Crime Act are allocated are always under review and the police play a key role in that review process."
