ACPO President, Sir Hugh Orde, responds to the murder of PC Ronan Kerr
The police family is united in support of Chief Constable Matt Baggott and all colleagues in the PSNI following the murder of a young PC
ACPO President, Sir Hugh Orde, said:
"The heartfelt thoughts of everyone across the police service are with the colleagues and loved ones of the young police officer tragically murdered today.
"We police on behalf of the whole community and this dreadful act is an attack on everyone in the community of Northern Ireland. Those who committed it will not succeed in diminishing the overwhelming will for peace.
"All who work in policing share in the sense of duty, professionalism and pride in the critical service police officers deliver every day.
"It is a police family and it is united in support of Chief Constable Matt Baggott and all our colleagues in the Police Service of Northern Ireland."
