The national football policing lead says he is not yet convinced of the need to reintroduce terracing
ACPO lead on football policing Assistant Chief Constable Andy Holt said:
“Clearly allowing standing areas at football matches is both an issue for crowd control and safety. In recent years we have made great strides through working with the Football Association, Premier League and all other stakeholders in improving crowd safety inside stadia.
“The police service has learned the lessons from previous football tragedies and would therefore need to be convinced of a need to change the existing crowd arrangements to ensure that there is not a repeat of such tragic events.”
